Receipts, invoices, and billing details

Last updated September 15, 2026

The difference between receipts and invoices, how to set a legal name and tax ID, how tax is calculated, and where to download documents.

Every successful top-up produces a document, available in the transaction ledger on the console's billing page.

Receipts and invoices

TypeContents
ReceiptProof of payment, recording amount, time, and payment method
InvoiceA formal document that also carries the legal name, address, and tax ID

Both are downloadable from the "documents" column of the corresponding ledger entry. The ledger filter offers "invoiceable only" to show just the entries an invoice can be issued for.

The payment completion page also links to both directly.

Billing details

Billing details are printed on invoices issued from then on, and can be filled in or changed on the billing page.

FieldNotes
Invoice emailWhere invoices are sent. Defaults to the account email when empty
Legal name and addressCompany name and registered address
Tax ID type and numberSee the table below

⚠️ Changes take effect from the next payment onward; invoices already issued are unaffected. Fill these in before your first top-up.

Payment works without billing details, in which case invoices show only the account email; they can be added later at any time.

Supported tax ID types

RegionType
Hong Kong SARBusiness Registration number
European UnionVAT number
United KingdomVAT number
United StatesEIN
SingaporeUEN

Clearing the tax ID type removes the tax ID from invoices issued from then on.

Tax

Whether tax applies, and at what type and rate, depends on your region and the tax details you provide.

Where tax applies it is calculated exclusive of the price: the checkout page shows the top-up amount and the tax separately, for example "$10.00 + $2.10 VAT". The credit you receive is still the face value of the top-up; tax does not consume your credit.

Where tax does not apply, the checkout page shows the top-up amount only.

Contact and notifications

Documents and credit notifications are sent to the account email. Invoices are additionally sent to the invoice email in your billing details, falling back to the account email when unset.

Organization accounts can configure a separate billing email in organization settings.

Common questions

Can invoices be reissued for earlier top-ups

Changes to billing details apply only to invoices issued afterwards. Invoices for historical entries cannot have a legal name or tax ID added retroactively; if you genuinely need this, explain the circumstances via a ticket.

Are there invoices for bank transfers

Yes. Bank transfers are credited by hand once received, and the document is issued along with them.

Do refunds affect invoices already issued

Invoices already issued are not modified. Refunds are recorded as separate ledger entries; see refunds.
